A block room reservation is provided at the following hotels for the convenience of the participants and are to be assigned on first-come first-served basis. The following tours have been planned for participants and accompanying persons - they provide excellent opportunities to see some beautiful places of Portugal ( for a tour description, please click on the tour name):
All tours depart from the conference site and return to the conference hotels, and should be booked in advance (see item "Procedure for Hotel/Tour Reservations and Payment").
Hotel reservations Participants wishing to reserve hotel accomodation should complete the relevant parts of the Hotel Reservation Form (RTF file, PDF file) and return it by fax or by mail to reach Viagens Abreu no later than June 30, 2002. Payment of 1 night accomodation must accompany this Application Form. After this date, Viagens Abreu can not guarantee neither the hotels, nor the prices. Please note that Lisbon hotels near the conference site will be full for sure during the symposium dates. So, we advise you to reserve as soon as possible. Viagens Abreu will send you a confirmation of reservation by fax, or e-mail. The remaining payment of accomodation, as well as personal extras (mini-bar, phone calls, ...) shall be paid directly at the hotel´s reception, while doing the check out. Deposit refund policy All cancellations/amendments must be done in written (fax, letter or e-mail). In the event of hotel cancellations, your deposit will be refunded after deducting bank charge/commission and the following cancelllation charges: If cancellation notification is received: Until July 15 --------------------------------- No cancellation charge After July 16 and until August 15 ------------- 50% of one-night room charge After August 16 ------------------------------- 100% of one-night room charge Tours reservations Those wishing to attend one or more tours are requested to complete the relevant parts of the Hotel Reservation Form (RTF file, PDF file) and return it by fax or by mail to reach Viagens Abreu no later than August 31, 2002, together with the full payment. After this date, besides no guarantees of availability, a 10% penalty will be applied. Cancellations without penalties until September 6, 2002. After this date, tour reservations will not merit a refund. Payment Payment of hotel deposit and tour fair should be made in Euros in the form of credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Dinners are accepted) or bank remittance (all costs at transmitter´s charge). If you make payment by bank transfer, please send a copy of the bank receipt with the Application Form. Remittance should be made to:
Visa
may be required for participants coming from some
countries. For further information, participants are advised
to consult their local agencies or the nearest Portuguese diplomatic
mission. Participants requiring a visa for entry to Portugal
are strongly advised to make an application in their home country
at least three months before the intended date of travel. The
organizing committee will be pleased to send a letter of invitation
to any individual requesting it in the registration form.
